Hammer Center Calibration - The Charles R. Walter W-190 Grand uses the German Renner action manufactured to our specifications. Upon receipt at our factory, actions are carefully calibrated, aligned, lubricated, and tested for defects. Hammer center, the hinge of the piano hammer and shank, are carefully checked and calibrated to generate clear tone and rapid response while at the same time enhancing the skill of the pianist with optimum control.

Alignment, Lubrication, & "Pounding" - The two rails , the hammer rail and the action rail, are carefully adjusted to accurately align the parts of the action. Moving parts are lubricated with one of four different types of lubricants that are specifically selected for suitability in their various applications. Key action assemblies are "pounded out" by an automatic pounding machine after rough regulation to ensure that all parts are functioning and durable.
